AN IMPRESSIVE PAIR OF EARLY 20TH CENTURY AMERICAN SILVER FIVE-LIGHT CANDELABRA

the four fixed arms of architectural form with acanthus leaves and applied with robust openwork rosettes, each arm and central light with an urn-shaped sconce and detachable drip-pan, the bold tapering column with a gentle knop to top section embossed in high relief with acanthus leaves and a basket of flowers, the column with bands of shells and flowers, the whole raised on a sloping circular foot with bold acanthus leaf supports, the base with matted arcade and acanthus leaves, engraved underneath with presentation inscription "Presented to Margaret Carnegie by the Carnegie Veteran Association April 22., 1919", together with ten silver pierced and embossed shades by Gorham
